03 – Kuala Lumpur, smile number 36

I woke up spontaneously at 6:30. After 6 hours of sleep. Woke up to the sounds of birds. Around 8:30 I was in the street on my way to any coffee. Took the metro which they call “LTR”. Malaysians queue at certain points in the platform where the door of the metro will be. My first impression is that they are quiet, friendly and conservative people. They are also silent! The metro is very quiet and I had to compare it with Egypt or italy. Suddenly I heard two guys talking, I looked to find two Africans 😀

It is pretty cheap here, compared to Europe of course. I started buying food from the street. Which looks clean enough compared to what you expect when you do the same in Egypt. 1.20 Ringitt for some backery thing with cheese. Around 30 cents or so.

I had breakfast and went to meet Jirka, a couchsurfer I have been in touch with him before the trip. We were both actually on the same flight from Istanbul to Kuala Lumpur (KL) but failed to meet. Jirka is from Czech, 42 and told me his interesting story. He worked in a bank where he didn’t like his boss, the boss didn’t like him either so they offered him money to leave! He did! Took the money and traveled the world. Not bad! Then he started with two friends a small business selling “drones” lol. I took a photo with Jirka. When I also his permission to post it here, he asked if it was a good photo and said: “this is my smile number 36”. Hehehe. He used to train to smile everyday in the elevator in his bank job. So if you don’t like this photo, remember that he has at least 35 other smiles 😀

We had a lot of interesting conversations about our travels and other stuff. It was a long walk that left us both sweaty resting in some cafe drinking anything cold!

We split around 12:00 since Jirka has a lunch arranged with a friend, I visited the city gallery that had an impressive miniature model of the city with a presentation that markets this city which is one of the most touristic places in the world. I also visited a small traditional market where you see a lot of fake brands and lots of food that you want to eat. I rest a bit now and then I want to find a place where I can see the city from above. Will try to climb one of these many towers!

Some pictures for you 😉
